BASS INVADERS
A side-scrolling shooter, with semi-procedurally generated levels, based on the music the player chooses.
I worked on the majority of the level design, textures and VFX over a 2 year period.
Steam Trailer for BASS INVADERS - a game I worked on most of the level design, material authoring, and VFX for!
“THe Construct” - 2d ARPG Project
An entirely self-designed and made short ARPG style game using the Construct 2 engine. Estimated hours 300+.
I wanted to focus on an action RPG style which rewarded players for slow-moving, heavy hitting attacks, which led to the development of the "hold and release" abilities. These mechanics were designed first, then the aesthetic and environments around it.
The combat was inspired by games such as Path of Exile and Diablo.
This was made for a university assignment, but I really wanted to achieve something I was proud of for this and put in a lot more than was asked for, and can happily say I am proud of the result. All of the art and code is my own work.
You can now play it on https://harrybentley.itch.io/the-construct

“Grow Grow Grow Your Boat” 48h Game Jam (March 2020) 3rd Place Winners!
“Grow Grow Grow Your Boat” was the result of a 48h Game Jam at Bournemouth University with the theme “Growth”. Made using Unity.
Myself and 5 others collaborated to make a game loosely inspired by Mortal Engines, the premise being you destroy recycle parts of other ships to build up your own vessel and defend yourself from other boats.
I worked on the grid-based building and upgrade system and UI implementation, as well as the other coding alongside Craig Barfoot.
Conner Shipton and Alex Seaman built models. Tom Price and Frazer Hoskins built and animated models.
Out of the 18 teams competing at the university, we came in 3rd place!
